Year of the Rooster, Chinese New Year

rooster-40686_960_720January 28, 2017 is the second new moon after the shortest day, Spring Festival, or Chinese New Year.

For Las Vegas here are some events:

  • Chinese New Year in the Desert  Events are listed, some free, some ticketed.  Check their schedule.  Container Park and the Linq are locations for some of the events.
  • Lion and/or Dragon Dances:

  • LINQ: Jan. 27 at 6 – 9 p.m., Jan. 28 and Jan.29 at 1:30 – 9 p.m., Jan. 30 at 6 – 9 p.m.
    Fashion Show Mall: Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
    Venetian: Jan. 28 at 3 p.m.
    Container Park: Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    Forum Shops at Caesars Palace: Jan. 30 at 10 a.m.
    Palace Station: Jan. 30 at 7:15 p.m
  • ARIA – Saturday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. at the main valet with a processional through the lobby
    MGM Grand – Sunday, Jan. 29 at 4 p.m. inside the main lobby with a processional through the casino
    Bellagio – Monday, Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the main porte-cochere with a processional through the casino

    Lucky Dragon will kick off Lunar New Year on January 28 with a traditional Chinese lion dance at 6 p.m.

  • Las Vegas Chinatown Plaza (Events posted here)  February 12, which is the 15th day and the traditional end of the Spring Festival
  • Bellagio Conservatory until March 4
