Lunar Eclipse – September 27, 2015

Skywatcher Derek Keats of Johannesburg, South Africa snapped this photo of the total lunar eclipse of June 15, 2011 with a Canon EOS 50D camera.

Just a summary for Sunday night’s Lunar Eclipse. (source)

Las Vegas, NV local time:

5:11 pm   Moon Enters shadow of the Earth (Moon below horizon)

6:27 pm   Moon Rise  (Moon appears to be much larger near the horizon)

7:47 pm  Maximum Eclipse (a redish orange color should be soft lighting the moon before and after this point)

10:22 pm  Moon Exits shadow of the Earth

The harvest/blood/super moon should be clear to see depending on cloud cover in the area.
